This is our first release of the year at NOLA, and as with all collections, an intentional one. Although it is the first drop of the year, it has been in the works since the middle of last year, unfolding at its own pace, with slow tweaking and changes as we went along until I was happy with how everything sat and looked.

Watching everything slowly come together has been really special, and finally being able to share it feels incredibly exciting. What makes it even more worthwhile is seeing the response it got since the first day of release.

This collection started with an intensity to capture a feeling.
That soft, hazy moment at sunset when the light shifts and everything feels a little slower.
That sense of wanting to escape somewhere else, even if only for a moment. Not a specific place, but a feeling.
Something warm. Romantic. Easy. Slightly nostalgic. A quiet kind of longing.

Like all of the drops we create at NOLA, this collection went through many small refinements. Shapes were adjusted, prints were reworked, and colours were softened along the way.

It’s always a process of stepping back, reassessing, and allowing ideas the time they need.
One of the most interesting parts of designing is that you may have a clear idea in your head, but it doesn’t always translate exactly in the final piece.

That’s where the learning happens. Even after being in this space for a while, I’m still humbled with every drop. I’m constantly learning both technical skills, and also about myself. My style. My values. What I choose to put out into the world.

Once that feeling became clear, everything else began to fall into place.
Soft pinks, sage, olive, muted lilacs, warm neutrals, and washed tones that feel sun faded rather than bright. A palette designed to feel calm, wearable, and easy to live with.

The silhouettes are styles we naturally return to at NOLA. Puffed sleeves, smocked dresses, halter, and relaxed two piece sets. Feminine but effortless. Comfortable while still feeling considered. Pieces designed to move with you and become part of everyday life.

Wearability was important throughout this release. I wanted everything to feel easy to put on while still feeling special. Dresses you can wear on warm days, travel with, dress up with jewellery, or keep simple with sandals. Sets that work together but also fit easily into an existing wardrobe.

You will also notice our continued use of contrast fabrics throughout the collection. It has surely become a signature for us, pairing complementary prints and colours in a way that feels unexpected but still balanced. It adds depth and individuality without overwhelming the piece.
The prints carry the slightly imperfect, hand drawn quality I am always drawn to. Florals, vines, and small motifs that feel soft and romantic.

One of my personal goals for the brand was to extend our size range for this series. This drop runs from XS–6XL, while the option for customised sizing remains. This marks an important step for me in continuing to make NOLA accessible to more of you.
For those who have been following along on our journey of building the school in Jaipur, I wanted to share its current update. Our builders and artisans are working incredibly hard, and it has been special to witness their vision and dream slowly taking shape. We feel proud to stand beside them at such a pivotal stage of their journey.

I always feel deeply grateful to be in a position where I can give back to the same community that has supported me and my brand. That gratitude extends to everyone who has been on this journey with me.
As I take some time to enjoy this release, I already have a vague idea of what is coming next, and it will be something just as exciting, if not more.
This collection feels like a calm beginning to the year. A small release created with care, intention, and patience.
We move thoughtfully at NOLA. Slow fashion, for us, is about pace and intent. Giving ideas time to evolve and only releasing pieces when they truly feel ready. Most importantly, moving at a steady and healthy pace for our makers, allowing them to create each piece with love and care.
Thank you, as always, for being here and supporting NOLA.
With love
Neha Ash
